Cookie Policy
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to site owners.
Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixels. In this policy, we refer to all such technologies collectively as “cookies”.
2. How We Use Cookies
CARIUSB uses cookies to operate core platform functionality (login, security, and payments). With your permission, we may also use analytics and marketing cookies to understand usage and measure campaigns.
3. Types of Cookies We Use
3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Service to function. Without them, features such as logging in, maintaining your session, and processing generation jobs would not work. These cookies cannot be disabled.
- Authentication session cookie: stores your login session token so you remain signed in as you navigate the platform. Set by Supabase Auth.
- CSRF protection token: protects form submissions from cross-site request forgery attacks.
- Preference cookies: remember settings such as your selected subscription billing period (monthly/annual) within a session.
3.2 Third-Party Cookies
Some third-party services we use may set their own cookies. These include:
- Supabase: provides authentication and database services. May set session and refresh token cookies necessary for authentication to function.
- Stripe: our payment processor may set cookies during the checkout and payment flow to prevent fraud and ensure secure transactions. These cookies are only active during payment sessions.
If you opt in to optional cookies, we may use analytics and marketing tools (see Section 3.3). If you opt out, those tools are not loaded.
3.3 Optional Cookies (Analytics & Marketing)
If you accept optional cookies, we may use services such as:
- Google Tag Manager (GTM) / Google Analytics 4 (GA4): helps us measure traffic and conversions. GA4 is deployed via GTM.
- PostHog: helps us understand product usage and improve features.
- Meta Pixel: helps us measure ad performance and retarget campaigns.
If you reject optional cookies, we do not load these tools.
4. Cookie Duration
- Session cookies: temporary cookies that expire when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies: remain on your device for a set period. Our authentication refresh tokens typically persist for up to 7 days to keep you logged in.
- Third-party analytics and marketing cookies (opt-in only): if you have accepted optional cookies, third-party services may set persistent cookies with longer durations. These currently include Google Analytics 4 (up to 2 years), Meta Pixel (up to 180 days), and PostHog (session and persistent, up to 1 year). You can withdraw consent and clear these cookies at any time via the cookie banner or your browser settings.
5. Managing and Disabling Cookies
You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are stored and delete them individually or in bulk
- Block third-party cookies
- Block all cookies (note: this will prevent CARIUSB from working correctly, as authentication requires cookies)
- Set preferences on a per-site basis
Common browser cookie management pages:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in and using the Service.
6. Your Consent
When you first visit the Service, you will be presented with a cookie consent banner. Strictly necessary cookies (as described in §3.1) are activated automatically, as they are required for the Service to function. Optional cookies (analytics and marketing, as described in §3.3) will only be activated if you choose to accept them via the consent banner. You may withdraw or change your cookie preferences at any time using the “Reset cookie choice” option on this page. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out prior to withdrawal.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
8. More Information
For more information about how we use your personal data more broadly, please see our Privacy Policy.
